Description

The mission of the Secretary of State is to serve as the custodian of official government documents for the State of Kansas. This includes administering laws relating to elections and legislative matters, business services, and the Uniform Commercial Code. The Secretary of State also appoints notaries public; maintains a registry of trademarks; maintains files on labor union reports; supervises the registration of all legislative lobbyists; registers athlete agents; publishes state administrative rules; supervises the compilation of session laws; and publishes the Kansas Register.
